This was a competition brief set by the design company JDO, which I completed in my 3rd Year at AUB. The Brief was simple, find and re-create a supermarket product that has become repetitive in its packaging. Make your new product stand out on the shelf, making sure this product innovative and exciting.

As you can see I choose squash or cordial. Brands like Robinsons and Ribena as well as supermarket own rule this shelf at most UK superstores, all with simple shaped bottle with photos of fruit on their label. What I designed in response was an aluminium pump bottle designed to be one display with refillable pouches. Five flavours, Five bright and colourful designs, Five joyful fruit cordials fit for the whole family.

Add some joy to your water..

A bright, easy and fun name and logo, with a hint of sophistication. Add a little colour and the kid friendly lowercase lettering, and you have a simple logo full of joy.

I created the patterns for the bottles and pouches from my own illustrations. I used a mix of medias and textures but only a limited number of my illustrations made it on to the final patterns. Making what could be overly chaotic into five cohesive patterns because of their repeating elements. This patterns are bright and colourful but, not portentous or child like.

The pump bottle would be reusable, with an easily removable top. The refillable pouches would come in large 1.2 litre or the smaller 600 ml  and would be made out of recyclable materials, was well as being cheaper than the aluminium premium pump bottle.The bottle will also come with removable information and promotional stickers so that the customer can enhance the decorative effect at home.
